As we are planning the second annual WantedDesign (NYC, May 18-21, 2012), we would like to share some exciting news with you. New York is definitely the not-to-be-missed destination for design discoveries and exchanges this year, and we are following our success from the first edition this past May with another impeccably curated exhibition and program. This year’s WantedDesign will yet again be a convivial and welcoming platform for the design community. More

WantedDesign team would like to thank you all for your support and participation.

This first edition was a great success and we would like to keep the conversation going with all of you. We posted pictures on Facebook, check them out. There are more coming, as well as videos, so stay tuned. Also, follow us on twitter for updated info all year long @wanteddesign

We are working on building a strong New York design scene, an event that really reflects New York during design week and throughout the year. We are currently working on next year, and are looking forward to keeping you posted on WantedDesign 2012.

“Making-Of “@ WantedDesign

How do designers revisit traditional savoir-faire and materials in contemporary design?

Over the course of 3 days at Wanted Design NYC a top selection of the finest craftsmen working with metal, wood, engraving, or gilding will collaborate on site with designers to create a one of a kind piece, to be revealed at the closing event Monday evening.

Coordination by Julien Legeard (Excellence Group), with the participation of LMC Corp (Les Metalliers Champenois), Gohard Gilding, Ateliers Jean Joseph, Santo et Jean Ya and designers Marc Thorpe (Marc Thorpe design) and Brooks Atwood (PODdesign founder, Assistant Professor at NJIT).

WantedDesign invites you to discover the “Making-Of” with the designers and craftsmen working together on site, May 14, 15 and 16, from 2pm to 4pm, at La Venue/Terminal Store.

Other participating designers including David Trubridge, Matali Crasset, Joe Doucet and Francois Azambourg will be invited to spend time with the craftsmen to discuss, experiment and share ideas.
